Cowinergy
THE PROJECT
To achieve adequate conditions for the wine aging process, Spanish wineries use various constructive designs. This project aims to promote energy and environmental sustainability in the wine sector. We focus on the aging cellars, looking for low energy consumption buildings. For this, we propose a large-scale study, based on the characterization of wineries spread throughout the national territory, with a strong involvement of the business sector.

Three Spanish universities participate in the project: the Polytechnic University of Madrid, the University of Valladolid and the University of Santiago de Compostela. It has been funded by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness within the State Program for Research, Development and Innovation Oriented to the Challenges of the Society (2014 Call, in the modality: «R & D & I Projects»).
