The name of Cillar de Silos is an homage to the monk who was historically responsible for the administration in the Monastery of Silos. The supply of wine for the order during the seventeenth century was in Quintana del Pidio. The cillero, was the one in charge to organize the pantry or ciliary, with the wine and the necessary foods for the religious.
